Lord Robin Eames, Co-Chair -
Lord Robin Eames has for many years been very much involved in Northern Irish politics, and has been a prominent advocate for peace and understanding.
He was born in 1937, the son of a Methodist minister and his early years were spent in Larne, with the family later moving to Belfast. Educated at the city's Belfast Royal Academy and Methodist College he then went on to study at the Queen's University of Belfast, graduating LLB in 1960, and earning a Ph.D. in Ecclesiastical Law and History in 1963.
In May 1975 he was appointed bishop of the cross-border diocese of Derry and Raphoe and in 1986 he became the 103rd Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland, holding this position until 2006. He was created Life Peer in August 1995 and on June 13, 2007 he received the Order of Merit from the Queen.
