The Consultative Group on the Past will give a progress report on their work to date later this week in Belfast.
The co-chairs of the Group, Lord Robin Eames and Denis Bradley, will give a speech where they will highlight the key issues the Group believe society will have to address if we are to have a better and shared future that is not overshadowed by the past.
This progress report comes ahead of the Group’s final report to be published later this year which will contain recommendations on how Northern Ireland can deal with the legacy of the past.
A spokesperson for the Group said, “The Group feels it is important to give the people of Northern Ireland, and beyond, an update on their work.
“Dealing with the legacy of the past is going to be very difficult for many people. The Group has been discussing and reflecting on the hundreds of submissions they received during the public consultation.
“This week the co-Chairs will highlight what the Group believes will be the critical issues that we will all have to address if we are to have a peaceful and better future that is not overshadowed by the legacy of the past.”
